Inreda Diabetic BV, an Academic Medical Center (AMC) spin-off company, develops a bi-hormonal artificial pancreas device system that autonomously regulates the glucose level in the blood of patients with diabetes at home. The device performs a real-time regulation of glucose concentration in the blood and if needed, can infuse either insulin to lower the blood glucose level, or infuse glucagon to raise it.
